ASUS ROG II - Is here and it is not for Everyone!

Asus ROG Phone II every spec maxed out the absolute dream phone on paper, so the question is how well the specs on paper translate to real-world use in a phone, and is pretty much the perfect phone to find that out! COZ its specs translate to it as a Dream Phone.

Let's see the World Class Spec Sheet :
SnapDragon 855+
12 GB of DDR4 RAM
1TB of UFS 3.0 Storage
6.6" 120hz OLED Display
6000mAH Battery
48MP Dual Camera's

Ya it deserves our Claps!! On paper this is the best of the smartphone you can buy right now which is best in almost every metric! Best Chip, Most RAM, Biggest Storage, Fastest Display, Biggest Battery straight acroos the Board and with room still for a HEADPHONE JACK!

So how does absolutely dominating specs sheet actually translate to real world use and yes it's pretty good...so first of all the design the package that you stuff all the specs into it's pretty similar to the first ROG phone they've toned it down a little bit you know there's a little less copper a little less thin action but it's still unmistakeably a gaming
phone.

Ofcourse the aesthetic isn't sadal and the design is a bit more subjective it's not really on the spec sheet this is just what it looks like if you're cool carrying around a phone that looks like this or not and there's a certain type of person that will be.

I'll say the No.1 thing you'll notice more than the glowing logo more than the vent cut-out for cooling more than the circuit lines and the design that reflect a rainbow or a glow colors is that it's just absolutely huge there are small phones and there are big phones but this is a HUGE PHONE!

You need a big footprint to fit all these specs and then since it's made mostly of metal which is dense and with that big battery this is a really heavy phone and you will really feel the weight in your pocket and holding this phone.

Lot of the design choices are made specifically with the gamer in mind or just like media in general so things like the USB Type-C port is down on the side here so you can still charge it while holding the phone sideways and it doesn't get in the way there are also incredible! Dual Front-Facing Stereo Speakers and you know the trend where the headphone jacks are slowly being replaced by wireless headphones the Dual Stereo Front-Facing Speaker set which is also becoming very rare now with worse speakers.

So overall the design of course that isn't for everyone, so OK than the specs first of all it is extremely fast in launching apps and then keeping a lot of them in memory and flipping through them yeah having the highest end available specs here does great...but then there actually are some other things that make it feel even faster.

No.1 is the UFS 3.0 Storage the fastest storage you can get on a smartphone now it feels much faster including installing apps really quickly and launching apps quickly and then.

No.2 is the Display it's 6.6" inch 120hz AMOLED 1080P Panel and so that's a pretty unique spec sheet that's a great number but you gotta actually look at it, it is the fastest mobile display in the market...you can turn it down the normal 60hz if you want or can bump it up to 90hz or just keep it at 120hz all the time.

And it also has 240hz touch response refresh rate so it's super quic and responsive to your touch scrolling for example is super smooth you ofcourse can't really feel it until you see it in person.

I'll say it again high refresh rate for everything but it's not the best looing OLED in the world cause it's just 1080p which on a 6.6" screen is not a huge deal but worth noting...like it's not a low resolution it's still almost 400 ppi but vs the 1440p display you can tell the difference and then colors and contrast you may feel a little strange at times.... it has adjustable color profiles though which you adjust to your liking.

The color calibration gets upto decently bright at 600 nits but it doesn't get very dim at night which you may find it much more annoying.

It also has a fingerprint reader underneath the display glass and it's not as good as the best ones you see on other smartphones like samsung or oneplus it is glitchy i can say.

So specs it's got those for sure but like always you have to look it little bit past the numbers to find and see interesting things like that but then speaking of nos here are some other numbers to thing about upto a Terabyte of built-in storage there is not expandable storage but let's be real...you probably don't need more than that.

No.3 6000mAH Battery and that you can imagine also translates through well...that is the biggest battery you can ever get in a smartphone now even at being 120hz refresh rate you can never come to close to kill this phone in a day of use and even if super duper heavy user you will get 50% still left at the end of the day that's for sure.

It's a dream smartphone battery so the days are gone when you have to charge during the day and then again just plug it in every night...i can say for sure you can go for a weekend road trip and not bring your charger along and comeback 2 days later with atleast 30% battery left and that is if you kept it on 120hz regresh rate.

And if you turn it down to 90hz or maybe 60hz and you're good for while so yeah this is that no. 6000mAH that translate very well.

Then here's 48MP Dual Cameras on the back at F1.79 Aperture this turns out as one of those specs where you can just kind of ignore the no. you might be tempted to believe 48MP automatically means it's good but this you know it's a decent camera...Maybe you can grade it's picture quality as B-grade images look pretty good when you give them a lot of light ofcourse and it does have great HDR with hit or miss and there's actually a bit of noticeable shutter lag which I thought was strange for a phone with such a great specs.

It also has a 13MP Ultra-Wide at a 125 degree field of view similar to other phones it's decent but not great though one of the themes I've noticed about Gaming Phones thought is that people who will use this don't really take a ton of pics or care as much about the critical detail of photos or videos so the cameras are just good enough.

But i do actually want to give ASUS major props or something though so if you remember the first ROG Phone that software was a little bit over the top the themes and the icons very gamery and the mechanical sounds and it was a bit much and was criticize much - Well on the ROG Phone II when you first set it up you get the option to choose between that very heavy ROG UI or near stock clean ZEN UI and that is the welcome change.

And ofcourse it wouldn't be a REPUBLIC OF GAMERS phone without plenty of gaming features there's still the armory create and game modes, game genie X mode the system lighting control it's all still here even improved air triggers on each side of the phone for gaming and landscape...if you're not the targeted user I mean it's for gamers ofcourse you will still enjoy using it!

Well if you're finding yourself sitting there thinking wow i really want to know if i can tell the difference between that 120hz vs 90hz vs 60hz Refresh Rate with my eye and i can't wait to play games at such high frame rates yeah you'll love this phone!

So it turns out ofcourse the specs KING on paper does deliver in real life and it also turns out the design is very important..
